Oswald Visitor's Center
Minnesota Landscape Arboretum
Chaska, Minnesota
The 45,000 SF Oswald Visitor Center at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum serves as the main entry point of the Arboretum complex. LKPB worked on the mechanical and
electrical systems for this wonderful multi-purpose facility. The Visitor Center has ten meeting spaces, including the 400-seat MacMillan Auditorium, classrooms and a
160-seat restaurant with a private dining area, cafeteria, and outdoor dining terrace. It is a spectacular setting for educational seminars, corporate meetings,
weddings and other special events.
LKPB's design for the Visitor Center utilized the State of Minnesota Sustainable Building Guidelines and Xcel Energy Design Assistance Program, and includes
a geothermal heat pump system. An educational kiosk at the Visitor Center explains how the system operates and promotes their philosophy of environmental
consciousness.

Renewable Energy
Project
LKPB also provided lighting design for the Arboretum's Anderson Horticultural Library under a separate project.
