University of Minnesota
TCF Bank Stadium
Minneapolis, Minnesota
The TCF Bank Stadium at the University of Minnesota has LKPB's engineering touch on it. The $288 million stadium accommodates over 50,000 fans, including
general, club, and suite seating, and it opened for the 2009 football season.
LKPB provided design for HVAC and power supply to approximately 376,000 of the 900,000 square feet of finished space in the stadium, including the 60-yard
long, football-shaped Gopher Locker Room, the premium suites, the University of Minnesota Band Suite and the press level. Important design elements for the
scoreboard control room at the press level are an uninterruptable power source and emergency power system. Should a power issue arise, these features help ensure
continuous operations for keeping score, measuring time, and displaying statistics.

The TCF Bank Stadium contains 7,500 energy-efficient light fixtures and over 2 million feet of electrical wire/cable. The 113 restrooms contain water-conserving
sink fixtures, which help reduce the overall indoor potable water usage by 30 percent. The building is the first collegiate football stadium in the country to
achieve LEED Certification, a testament to the University's commitment to environmental stewardship.
