Fire/Police/Public Works Improvements
Hopkins, Minnesota
This multi-building project entailed constructing a substantial addition to the police department building, including cell area and officer locker rooms, and renovating
existing space for more efficiency and code requirements. A new reception area was added, along with an enlarged dispatch room, training space and meeting rooms. A new keycard
entry system and new infrared heating equipment to warm vehicles in a storage bay were part of the improvements for the police department.
With the Hopkins Fire Department answering an average of 550 fire and emergency calls annually, the need for an expanded facility was long overdue. A new three-bay fire
station was built. It includes a training room, exercise area and office spaces for fire department administration. A new public works storage and maintenance facility,
including offices and wash bays, was also constructed as part of the overall project.
